How much
time is involved? Is this business kid and family friendly? How?
Ø The time
you put into your business is really up to you. When you hold
a party you are usually in & out of the persons home in about
an hour. I usually stay a bit longer and visit before & after
the party.
Ø This is a business you can do with your family. I take
my kids with me most of the time when I have a toy set up or an
in home party. It even helps me because they know how to demo
the products better than myself.

What
do you like best about your business? What
I like best about my business is that I get to play in order
to make money. My children really enjoy trying out all the
new products. |
What’s
the hardest part about your business? The
only thing that can be hard about my business is that my children
want to keep playing even when I am tired.
How much
does it cost initially? What is the refund policy? Ongoing expenses?
Hostess gifts?
Ø The kit
deposit is only $49.00, but the entire kit fee is $149.00 or free
if you reach our Super Start level. It is paid for in two more
installments. You can easily have the entire kit paid for before
the next installment is even paid with only one party.
Ø The refund policy on all of our products is 100%. The
company will take anything back if there is something wrong anytime.
If the toy purchased is no longer carried by the company they
will refund all the money or exchange it for a toy carried at
the same value.
Ø The only ongoing expenses I have are to order toys for
my own household (at a discount) and buying new catalogs when
they are available, but of course once I send them out they help
me bring in even more money.
Ø There are usually great hostess gifts offered by the
company, but I also add in a little something extra for an additional
incentive to my hostesses. And of course the hostess will also
receive the amount of FREE toys that they earned through their
party sales.
How much
commission or compensation do you receive? How do you advance
to leadership? When you first sign
up with Discovery Toys you automatically make 25% wholesale value
of your sales. In addition you can easily earn monthly bonus checks
for up to 40% on your own sales and 15% on your teams sales. The
amount you make grows as you do with your business.
What is
a realistic show sales average or monthly sales average? On
average at a party I will sell anywhere from $200 to $500 in products
which works out to me making $75.00 - $125.00 base just from the
show. My commission checks for that party alone will be $20 -
$75 extra income. That is only from one party though. I will usually
try to do 2-4 parties a month if possible. It ends up being a
great extra income for our household.
Do you
keep your own inventory and make deliveries?
Ø I do hold
some of my own inventory and do booth set ups at local events.
That is not a requirement and not many consultants will hold their
own inventory. It is really up to you if you want to add in the
extra time.
Ø I do make deliveries if it is local, but mostly I mail
all of the orders out or have the company mail them directly to
the customer.
What’s
the minimum requirement to stay active? The
minimum requirements to stay active, once you have gotten started
are very easy. You only have to have $150.00 in total sales per
calendar quarter after your first full year of being a consultant.
That amount is very easy to make after you have been active for
a year, because you will have the same customers calling all the
time just to make orders.
What skills
and experience is required? What kind of training do you receive
when joining?
Ø The only
requirements for being an Educational Consultant yourself is that
you want to make a difference in children’s lives, want
to work flexible hours around your families needs, be your own
boss, and want to increase your family’s income.
Ø The training you can receive is endless. We have an online
website for consultants only with great help, weekly call-in updates,
newsletters, audio and video tapes, conferences, monthly meetings
on phone or in home, and extra mailings from the company directly
along with extra mailings full of info from me! I am also available
by email or phone for ANY questions that may arise.
How are your products
or services sold? Can you sell online? Can you advertise online?
What are the restrictions for selling?
Ø I sell
products at local events when I have a booth, through my website,
and of course at catalog and in-home party’s.
Ø You may set up your own website through the company and
they handle all the updates and your orders. You really don’t
have to do much work at all with those sales. The only thing I
do with internet sales is send a “Thank you” email
card.
Ø There are no restrictions for where or who you may sell
to. This is your business and you run it as you wish.
What else
would you like people to know about your business? I
have really enjoyed being a part of this company and running my
own Discovery Toys business out of my home. The opportunities
are endless. We also have great incentive trips every year. This
year the company is sending us to Vienna Austria. It is very easy
to earn these trips once you get going with your own toy business.
