Summertime BBQ
by Audrey Okaneko

Summer is here and the thought of hosting parties in someone's living room can sound very unappealing, not only to you but to those invited as well. So why not make your party fit the season?

How about hosting a bbq party? Now I don't mean misleading folks into thinking they are coming to a bbq, but how about "come see the latest toys out by the bbq" or " come see the latest plastic wares out by the bbq".

Then cater your party to a bbq theme. Do you sell cooking items? Great, then incorporate that into what you serve. Serve products that lend themselves to a bbq. Do you sell plastic ware? Great, bring all the food in the plastic containers and show off their size, shape etc. Do you sell fashions? Can you do your fashion show out by the bbq with everyone sipping lemonade and eating hot dogs? If you sell toys, show how they can be used outdoors, so that kids aren't cooped up indoors all summer. Use your imagination. How can the product you sell bring folks outdoors?

Let's face it summer is definitely an outdoor time. Folks want to know that this business they might be looking at can change with the season. A home party does not have to be in a living room. Set up your display outdoors. Make this attractive to others. Make them want to come!!

So, next time instead of asking someone to host a party, instead ask them to host a bbq!!
